Hello everyone! My name is Doug Champaign, I am a firefighter/ emt-B in the big town of Wellsboro, PA. I have been around firefighting all of my life, my dad is a fireman, his dad was a fireman and so on and so on. I have 5 years in as a senior firefighter, but I have 4 years that is off the record as a junior firefighter with the same station. We cover a little over 100 square miles in our first due district and have mutual aid districts that run from 9 miles to 47 miles from our district in which we respond on a special call basis. Station 1 has 12 pieces of fire apparatus, 4 ambulances in it's ambulance association (which is a different entity from the fire house), 2 snowmobiles, 2 six-wheeled atv units for brush fires and land rescues, as well as a rescue boat and dive team. and a mobile MCI trailor. I love everything there is about firefighting, but I absolutely love truck and rescue work.
