- WHEN I WAS YOUNGER MY FATHER WAS A FIREMAN. HE USE TO TAKE US EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO FIRES. I REMEMBER SITTING IN THE CAR AND THINKING "THATS WHAT I WANT TO DO." SO WHEN I TURNED 16 I DID JUST THAT 26 YEARS LATER STILL GOING IN. COLD AND COMING OUT HOT. THEN WHEN I WAS 18 I JOINED THE RESCUE SQUAD.. LOVE HELPING PEOPLE

- TOO MUCH TRAINING. START NO MORE EMT BASIC AND EMT 1 AND SO ONE.. EMT 1 GETS TO SCENE ABLE TO START IVS AND APPLY MONITOR SO EMT 2 GETS ON SCENE THINGS A DONE.. EVERY THREE YEARS TO RENEW TOO MUCH WITH THE WAY THINGS ARE IN THE WORLD.. AFTER 5 YEAR OF BEING A EMT RENEW EVERY 5 10 YEARS NO MORE . QUICK REFRESHERS THAT'S IT... TOOO MUCH TRAINING.. I KNOW IT'S FOR SAFETY,BUT PEOPLE CAN NOT DEVOTE THAT TIME ANY MORE..

It's been a tragic day in Jefferson County, where a 26-year old Firefighter was killed while trying to put out silo fire. Our Katie Gibas joins us from Hounsfield with more.

A member of the Sackets Harbor Fire Department has been killed in the line of duty, according to a press release from the Office of Fire & Emergency Management. A silo exploded in Sackets Harbor Sunday morning.

Why all these young girls pics have to be about the eyes or the boobs.. Come on girls where are the I have been in the firedept for 10 years and here is a pic of me fighting fire ,or in my turnout gear....

Salina, NY -- Veteran firefighters were left shaking their heads with the emergency call that drove up about noon today to Liverpool Fire Station No. 2 on Seventh North Street.
