- Why I Joined Fire/EMS
- Well its really in my blood. I actually had wanted to be a police officer so I was preparing my life for that and thought I could ride with my step dad on a fire truck and spend more time with him so i joined WSFD explorers not knowing I couldnt ride with family. My dad set me up to ride at our downtown station on Truck 1 with Capt. Bottoms and the first call was a reported house fire which was at 7:15am and I soon fell in love.
Now, that is my career path and will be going and startin my certifications and degrees up there

Running sirens at night

As everyone knows the law if you are in a fire dept vehicle responding emergency traffic to a call if you have your lights on you much have your siren on.
It is there emergency and plus its our safety.
One of my fellow members stopped me last night responding to a apt fire saying it is a curtious thing that we do
I respect his arguement although I am worried about my safety and my ass getting there and not worried about waking a whole neighborhood up

All Firemen are brothers and sisters

Everyone says all firemen are brothers and sisters. No matter where your from and no matter what state or department you come from you can always just walk into a firehouse in another state and just start talking to one another whether it be a volunteer dept or a career dept. Now to be honest I think it dont even matter if you are a rank of a junior firemen/ explorer you still are part of a family

hey i got this project and i need as much info on the history of firefighting as possible the catch is i got to have it done my the April 15th and it has to be 6pages of info
