I have over the years served as a disaster action team member with the American Red Cross, a military policeman with the Texas State Guard, a staff officer with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. I also served 3.5 years as chaplain of the Katy Fire & EMS Department. Currently I am Founder and Chief Chaplain of the National First Responder Prayer Team. The NFRPT is an online based network of prayer intercessors for first responders across the country.

Thoughts from the Land of Ike

What a time we've had here in Southeast Texas the last couple of weeks. Ahead of Hurricane Ike over 2 million people evacuated. After Ike over 2 Million were without power. In fact as of this morning almost 3 weeks later about 35,000 customers are still without electric power. According to a figure I saw the other day about 400 people are still unaccounted for.

The First Responders Prayer

By Rev. Robert A. Crutchfield



Father in Heaven,

Please make me strong when others are weak, brave when others are afraid, and vigilant

when others are distracted by the chaos.

Provide comfort, and companionship to my family when I must be away.

Serve beside me and protect me, as I seek to protect others.
