Chaplain,

Based on what I read, I am pretty confident that you hit the mark on the presentation. It's short enough to keep folks interested and definately not boring to the point where you tune people out. If I would add anything, I would definately add photos of real incidents and stories of dust related fires/explosions from across the globe.

Dust explosions and their prevention is something we all need to be aware of. Most firefighters and some officers have no idea about the risks posed, nor how to assess whether a premises may give rise to dust explosions. Even scarier is that I would estimate that probably 80% of those who own / and or operate premises where we can routinely expect to encounter combustible dusts have no idea of the hazard that exists, and worse still from a firefighting perspective have taken no steps at all to mitigate the hazard.

Excellent to see the references to NFPA 654 but what about NFPA 61: Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities?

I also applaud your use of the CSB information.
