The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Ok. Night down, day to look forward to. Busy to start with. Four calls, each one had a closer unit, so 4 cancels before we even turned a wheel. Time to put on a pot of coffee, though I try to stick to decaf anymore.

From what I have heard so far, the ambulance service here will reimburse you after completion of your probationary period...

However, they are getting short-handed and one of the FT FF/EMT here mentioned that it sounds like they might put on a course here due to that fact. If so, maybe the FD, city, ambulance service, or some combination of the three will cover the costs for the locals.

Very true Ralph!! I have heard a few of the stories from our EMT's here with certain individuals and their antics every now and then.

If a course opens nearby soon, I am thinking about becoming an EMT-B...if the finances will allow it anyway.

I seem to step in it a lot myself. And that's with no extra help from anybody.

Chris- Yes, it is awfully q**** in here (I'm afraid to say it...might have a few ladies come flying out of the shadows and attack me).
