The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Good Morning Everyone on this delightful Saturday... looks like those in the sick bay spa are getting restless...

My kit-kat Baby Zoomba says there is no GOOD reason to get out of bed today... so just chillax... and stretch out and catch some zzzzzz

hey FW - ya know someone is really sick when their kid has to call in and report near death symptoms... SMART KID !!!

Later Dee!

Ralph, very sweet pictures. Believe me, last night, I came close to adding a splash of Whiskey. Unfortunately, had already taken meds. A comatose FW might perplex my son a tad too much. He would probaby start sticking pins into me to see if I would wake up. LOL!!

Ralph, SHE has no options with a new Administration in place. I do all I can to lower risk of spreading it; believe me. But, since I am like half of the staff at my office - walking dead - might as well work through it as long as I can. I know, I know better. Usually, would not go in; just not an option right now. Have had to stop training for a couple of weeks, so can't give it to my instructors - damn!

I did one thing for which you won't smack me ... pulled myself off rotation until I am over it. Don't need to share it with those who may already be immune-compromised.

Morning Kevin, I can rough up anyone no matter how crappy I feel. Always makes me feel so much better!! :)

Aaron, suck it up mister! If I could heft an 80lb pack in -40 in the Laurentians for survival training, you can handle 45lbs in a little wind!! Geez! LOL!!

Morning Dee! He got a hug, then smacked - he is the one who gave me the virus! Just kidding ... he even made me a pot of tea. He is 19, guess I need to ask him what he wants! He had me cracked up earlier in the week. He was adamant he was going to call my boss and tell him I couldn't go to work that day ... rather a novel idea, but convinced him that things didn't work that way for adults. :)

Morning Ernie! I would much rather have "S" than freezing "R" - any day! Do not like ice anywhere but in a glass with something good to go over it!

Here is the wind! Again! S word to come and just in time for the wildfire refresherand the pack test. Might have to postpone the pack test due to weather. Three miles with 45 pounds into a 20 mph wind is not a very fun way to spend the afternoon!

Morning Chief and FW!! Get to brave some freezing r**n here. Already hearing reports of rollovers and cars sliding off of roads over a big area of the state.

FW, thank you for the coffee!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Morning Chief, snowing here. Large pot of tea brewed for FW, pot of coffee on for the rest of the crew.

My son earned a gold star last night ... went on a mission of mercy and bought me a box of the Puffs with VapoRub! What a kid, eh?!? Now, if only FW can remember to keep the damn things away from her eyes! Sigh ... :D

Stay safe, stay warm - BEHAVE!

Not too much...need to pick up my girls from a church activity here after a bit and then start thinking about heading to bed since tomorrow is my Saturday to work for the month (really weird idea on the boss' behalf...aren't they all?). Other than that, just sitting at the computer and checking things out here, there, and a few other places.
