Good morning! How are we faithing? Continuing with our discussion yesterday about heresy, some have said that there are other ways to enter into heaven than by Jesus. False. Now I do not nor can anybody else presume to know who makes in into heaven apart from Jesus. That statement is referring to those before Jesus came and those who may never have heard the truth. That subject is for those who want to pontificate or when we wonder for the sake of pursuing scriptures. We are talking today about the blood of Jesus and his sacrifice for us. Some say a loving God would not subject a substitutional sacrifice for us and that a loving God forgives some if they are being good. Hogwash. There is no scripture anywhere that points to anything other than messiah. Any combination of out of context scripture can be used to prove any point but we must take the whole council of God and that tells us Jesus paid for all on the cross. Look at these;

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
NIV

Eph 1:7-10
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment-to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
NIV

Heb 9:13-14
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
NIV

1 Peter 1:17-20
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
NIV

1 John 2:1-2
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
NIV

1 John 5:6-12
This is the one who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
NIV

Now how anyone can come up with something besides Jesus' sacrifice for us is beyond me. Rationalization and words spoken out of context can show other stuff but it is crap. The Word is clear, Jesus died for us, his blood covers our sins, he offers this freely and we cannot do anything or do we "get right" before we accept and come to him. He takes us as we are and as we seek his will we improve. If we got to God by a balance of sin verses no sin, we all would be doomed. The Word says God knows every thought and deed. Oh boy would I be in trouble without Jesus...

Remember Donna Laughlin family...remember Megan....

Heavenly Father,
Lord, thank you for your son's sacrifice. Help us accept freely as you offer this gift. Lord we don't understand all of this and we are hit with wrong junk all the time so we ask for clarity and protection from the world. Help us decipher truth from fiction. Open our eyes to your Word. We lift those who need a touch from you and ask blessings and thank you in advance because we know you have it covered, in Jesus name, amen

Good morning! Seeds of doubt are permeating society today. The cross becomes outdated and the meaning is missed. Doing good in order to be accepted by God is being preached and even scripture is used to back it up. What these heretics miss is that the salvation through the cross causes good to be done. We get better with a relationship with God not work to get better so we can approach God. That is what the cross is all about. Anything but the sacrifice of Jesus as payment for our sins would lead back to the law as the judgement and that is impossible for us to do. Look, no one has all the answers to all the questions therefore points that separate or split hairs are interesting to discuss but not points to dismiss all of our faith. Whether you kneel or bow, wave or salute matters not one iota but your relationship with Jesus and his sacrifice for you is where we must stand. Jesus speaking below;

John 14:1-7
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."
NIV

Now where we are with Jesus the Christ;

Col 2:9-15
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
NIV

The cross is it. The cross is where all our sins went. The choice is left up to each of us, yes or no of the gift of salvation through Jesus and that is fair, equitable and just.

Remember Matt Madsen family, his grandpa passed... Remember Art Clay as he has his shoulder replaced today...

Heavenly Father,
Lord thank you for your grace shown on us. Lord we ask for your Word come to mind when we hear heresy. Lord protect our minds from lies that kill. Lord we lift up those on each of our heart today. Bless and hold them. Lord I ask for safe passage for my daughter and grand kids as they come for a visit. Lord, bless and protect Josh and Nikki in their upcoming nuptials, in Jesus name, Amen

Hi. Is this it? Am I in? Is it time for my favorite fire service chaplain quote? It reads like this: "Whether by choice or by chance, those who put themselves in harms way for friends and strangers alike are following Christs own example."
