Good morning! How are we faithing? End of a long week and I am pooped. How about you? How did your week go? Was it wrought with havoc and you want to go hide or was it a productive week and you just want to fish? Sometimes when our week is so full of stuff, from honey dos to work and projects there that are exhausting we can thank God for rest. That rest may come in the form of a nap, reading on the porch or the couch, tinkering in the garage, whatever you do or don't do to get rested up. God did teach us to work 6 and rest 1. The day isn't necessarily important so much but resting and praising God sure is. Some cultures and some jobs just don't afford stereotypical days off so make the most of the ones you have. Make sure you read the Word, reflect and thank God for everything. Recognise the wisdom in the sabbath day and what it was made for.

Gen 2:2-3
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

Good morning! How are we faithing? Another beautiful hot day. I prefer cooler temperatures but I wasn't consulted. God has a way of providing what we need every day and sometimes it's not exactly what we want. Realizing that God knows what we need better than we do is a huge step to faith and confidence in God. I may want a loaded dually pick up with all the bells and whistles but God provided opportunity and wisdom to buy the older regular pick up truck because he knew I like to tinker and massage older things and when I do that I talk to God and relax. The new truck, although cool would bore me in a short while. That is wisdom that I may not see when drooling over the dually. Do you follow? It's like wishing for that Gibson es-335 Lucille guitar but not not even mastered the one I have. The wisdom God shows in his Word sometimes escapes us because of wants or fleshly desires or whatever you want to call it. Having confidence that like the Word say, "I will give you the desires of your heart" will be carried out by God because he sees into our hearts and minds and know what is best. If we trust that God cares for us and believe he loves us, why would he not provide the best for us? May not be what WE think is best but down the road if we are seeking him, we realize that his choice was better than ours, in fact, our choice could have led to disaster.

Good morning! How are we faithing? You know, alot of the time when we are in the midst of stuff we look at the stuff and cry over it. I got to thinking about "stuff" and tried to think back a couple hundred years to what were the hobbies. Were there any hobbies? What stuff did people fret over? Did they polish and put pinstripe and spinners on their wagons? Did they cruise the center of town on a Friday night? When people roamed the west, what did they concentrate on without i-pods and cell phones? How did they travel without music on a radio? Odd questions but it leads one to think that the human being is the same today as they were back when. The stuff they counted as joy is the same as today. They had worry, fret, concern, happiness, sadness, joy, kids born, kids to raise, a job, chores, they worshiped on Sunday, they met with friends, they fought they loved. Nothing has changed except for our input which is a whole nother subject. We've talked about the joy of salvation and the inner joy we have and cultivate. Even in those streeful times when we are sad, broken hearted, depressed we still are saved by grace. We still know our eternity. We still know that God is right there with us and that whatever we are experiencing is not uncommon to man and nothing new. "Count it all joy" means that even in all that stuff and even our lack of stuff, God is the same and he loves you. That kind of joy is always present so have you reached down lately and pulled it out and looked at it? Have you paused and reminded yourself that whatever you are in will pass but God wont? I've found that sometimes we get comfortable in despair. We wallow and just circle the pond without looking for shore. If you are there today, pull out that joy Jesus gave and continues to give and hold it, rolled it around and realize you are not alone or is any of this unique. Think about that...

Remember Nena DeBusk's mom and Nena as she flies to the Phillipines...congrats to Lauren Williams and her daughter born yesterday,5lbs1oz and 18 inches long...look up Psalm 37, here's a piece of it;

Ps 37:5-7
Commit your way to the LORD;trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;do not fret when men succeed in their ways,when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Heavenly Father,
Lord, we ask for you to show us that joy that you installed deep in us when we came to you. Lord, bless us and comfort us and protect us so we may shine for you. Lord we ask for those who are in anguish for a peace that can't be explained. Lord we lift your name on high and worship you. Be with the new babies, keep them safe and healthy.

Good morning all! Man what a start to another beautiful day! How are we faithing? Do you find yourself so overwhelmed with the cares of the day that you have trouble rolling over and climbing out of bed? Does it hurt to even think about tomorrow? There's no club to welcome you to but many of us deal every day in that manner. The uncertainty and the thought of facing another day gets to some. Here's a thought, tomorrow comes whether we participate or not. Those things we dread often are not near as dreadful as we expect. What is that dread anyways? Sometimes a step back to the park bench to relax and observe happenings gives us a clearer view of what is taking place. Sometimes it isn't really all that bad. Yes it may suck and yes it may be difficult but facing each day with a mind set of loathing hurts us. You are given breath and you awoke today. You are able to get up even with aches and pains to do whatever it is you do. The simplest things we have or are can be thanked for because starting small with gratitude builds our faith to a point we can be thankful even in turmoil. Our joy is not the twist of the key but the ability to twist it. Our happiness is not that beach in Barbados but the ability to go. We thank God for our abilities even in sorrow and displeasure because his grace has already overcome everything. Anything you face is not new or unusual and guess what? The apostles, the ones who saw first hand the miracles and wonders of Jesus failed and had crap happen just like you. Yeah I know it's hard and sometimes you just wish to go home with God but since we are here to serve God, lets look through his eyes. Lets make this short stay worthy of the calling. Man I know things hurt but God knows first hand too. Start your day with a prayer that your attitude changes and that you have the peace and joy from the master.

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Thank you for your grace and love that saves us. Thank you for peace. Lord we lift those hurting today, place your comforting hand on them and those effected by calamity. Lord we ask for inner joy to spring out of us so we can't contain it! Lord thank you for another day on this orb to do your will, in Jesus name,amen
