My best man is from Wisconsin. My paramedic partner and best friend who passed away one-year ago had moved to WI. I visited him once, flying into Chicago, and driving to Pleasant Prairie. I learned how much I loved those hot dog places over the freeway outside of Chicago and how nice everyone seemed to be. From what I can tell so far, pretty cool things come out of your part of the world.
Sounds like you do with your multi-department involvement and full commitment to doing what you do. Passion is a good thing. I still have it of course, but my body won't let me do the same things anymore...
We all move on and find someplace else to fit in, to still do what we both obviously love doing, helping others.

I agree some people need to grow up.
I have 25yrs in my volunteer dept...still a black hat and like it that way. I also like to see what other people around this fine country are using for apparatus.
We are getting ready to celebrate our 100th Anniversary in 2013
We have ordered a pumper tanker from Toyne which is going to the FDIC this year, it has a 2000 gal tank and a 1500 gpm pump and its white over red!
Nice looking engine. Is it fully open in the back of the cab? I spent some time with a department in the Vancouver, WA area that had a couple Pierce Arrows and a Pierce Dash. Pretty good engines overall.
One Pierce rescue pumper and one very worn out Hahn engine that needs replacement.
Mike,
That is one beautiful truck, I am sure its a workhorse too. Pierce has nice lines and is always functional in design. Coupled with the Waterous chain drive pump it is quite in operation even in pump at idle without the gear clash in some other pumps. Sounds like your dept has PSI working with you. " Pride,Service and Integrity". Thanks for sharing the pics.
we have a lafrance at the LVFD tx
I thought the threat of hay bleves had subsided?
