Celebrating Christmas is something that is done at fire stations by firefighters all over the world.

Fire Station, Ballarat, South Australia

CFA (Australian) Fire Engine with Santa waving at local kids.

Some departments keep it simple, using only a single Christmas wreath on the engine.

Many departments with old retired engines use them for parades.

This includes night time Christmas parades. This would be an extreme example.

Everyone in the world loves firefighters, Santa and Christmas.

How does your department celebrate the Christmas holiday?

We get involved with the town's Christmas parade. We decorate one of our engines and then use a 1932 Studebaker engine to carry Santa during the parade. At the end of the parade we set up to have Santa greet the kids from the back of our Studebaker and hand out candy canes to all the kids.

We also sponsor a local family in need during the holidays.

We send one of our engines to the local parade, which includes at least one apparatus from each department in the county. We also deck out our engine with Christmas lights and all the Christmas accessories and show up at the local shopping plaza, with our safety officer dressed up as Santa, who gives candy out, and takes pictures with all the young ones. It seems there are a lot of young kids in my community, and they always enjoy seeing, and getting to be around a fire truck, especially with Santa aboard.

We also host a "winter fire safety class" at our station a couple days before Christmas, which has been surprisingly popular the past couple of years. Our safety officer talks about the dangers of Christmas tree fires, and all of the fun stuff.

As for out members, we have a fancy Christmas dinner and a popular hotel, that serves us very good food, and gives a good deal on it too :)! This is where we give out yearly awards and other fun stuff.

Well in the little town I live in when Santa comes to town he rides in one of our trucks.

Just yesterday we held a lunch with Santa its pre register and we take 50 kids. I dont think we make any money or very little money on this, but its fun to see the kids playing games and getting their picture taken with Santa.

we have put 2 christmas trees up inside and some lights on the gear racks and the nsome other decorations outside

We decorated the official department tree.

We help with the local parade and of course Santa gets to ride one of the engines. We also have a dinner with all of our members and their families. It is a great time of fellowship.

We do what we call Santa Saturday. Santa goes through the town and gives candy to kids. The only place we put decorations is on the firehouse, none on the trucks.

One thing for sure, we're not the only folks who are "on duty" that are celebrating Christmas!

So little says so much... Tis the season!

we do lights out side and have a firefighter dress up as santa and give rides on the truck and some times a t short with the fire dept name on it raped up and we also give a guddy bag and have a town dinner
