Australia is currently experiencing huge flooding from excessive rain.

Deaths and destruction... and inland tsunamis...

My news compared it to the U.S. Hurricane Katrina in destruction area - thankfully not equal in death toll - but the flooding continues.

My thoughts and prayers are with all our Australian brothers and sisters who are rescuing in these conditions and all those who are fleeing their homes to safety.

I am sure there is much better news on it - maybe FFN webmaster can post some, since everyone in Australia is working their tails off.

Google areas such as - Queensland Australia

So long as the mouth was ducked taped shut sure.....
Oh and thanks for the nightmare.... Hubs will thank you too....
Patti - when you and your hubby relent, and do finally come and visit us down-under you are going to have the time of your lives. After he's squashed some spiders, wrestled some crocs and speared some sharks you'll get to see what a tough ol' dude you married and this will be a huge boost to your love life - guaranteed. Now I'm so worried you guys are going to be having nightmares I've copied a pic of Oprah, just for you and hubby, so you can see just how cute and cuddly all us Aussies really are ;-) http://www.omgnews.com.au/oprah-winfrey-cuddles-a-koala-koala-doesn...
I more than likely will visit some day. :) What can I say but I am a sucker for beautiful land and I really really want to see the reefs.
Say what you will but, my take home point from my most excellent visit to Oz...if it doesn't bit you,

or sting you,

it passes you a beer.

I like the beer....

Yep - Jack's nearly got it right. In most Aussie pubs you'll find some kangas. Here's a follow on pic from our kanga mate above - after he's knocked back a few beers. However, it appears Jack hasn't been to Queensland. Up here they won't pass you a beer - Queensland kangas drink 'em. Then they'll hop down the beach and check out all the American tourists. It's a tough life for some down-under!
One of my first nights after moving here, I was laying in bed while the wife was brushing her teeth. A king-crab sized huntsman ran across the ceiling. I'll admit to nothing but the wife's comment was "What the hell was that? Sounded like a woman screaming?"

Huntsman spiders: Turning grown men into little girls since 1787.
The birds are especially friendly, they'll come right up to you.

Against nature humans are like ants.
Thanks to the good preparation, the number of victims is compared to Brazil, ten times less.

Another disaster is happening at the same time in Brazil.

We fight fire with water, but against water force there is no solution.
