It's not uncommon to see American flags on fire apparatus.

On uniforms...

or even stickers, patches and badges.

Question 1 • Is the USA flag something that your department includes on your uniform and/or fire apparatus?

Question 2 • If you are not from the USA, does your department displays their countries flags the same as we do in the USA?

yes we have the flag on our apparatus and uniform.
Thanks Mike I thought you would like it. That's the truck I worked on during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Many Americans forget that they are in America so they have to be reminded constantly. Not the Canadians or Mexicans just USAmericans.
This reaction is a bit late but maybe it will put some new life into this discussion/topic.

I'm from the Netherlands and over here we don't wear flags on our uniforms or bunkergear.
We do have a fireservice patch on them.

The apparatus doesn't have a flag on them as well, but most of the dutch firetrucks and engines have striping in the colours of the dutch flag (red, white, blue).

Sandro, Looks like the USA is not the only ones to incorporate a red, white and blue theme to our apparatus... thank you for sharing. It would be cool for you to post a discussion where you could provide more insight as to what you carry and how you store the equipment in your apparatus. Your rig looks brand new but I am not familiar with the style.

The engine in the picture is not the one in my station. I just picked this one, because is has the standard striping on it. A couple of years ago the stations had to choose their engines striping and because we have a English engine, we chose for English striping.

Nowadays every new engine and truck in Holland gets the red, white and blue striping.

About the stuff we carry and how we store the equipment: this varies per engine. But like the striping, they intent to standardise the equipment on an engine, so all the new engines will have the same equipment.

When I have some time, I'll make a discussion/topic on it and in the mean time I will take some pictures (on how we store the stuff/equipment) which I can share in the topic.
Uniforms yes never to proud to display the colors, every class B uniform comes standard with a flag.... i have friends and family who served in the armed forces. but on the trucks is where i kinda draw the line if you change out flags regularly, keeping them white and clean then by all means then fly them high and proud. but there's one dept south of us who has had a flag on there truck for it seems like years now..its black, ripped, beaten and tethered to me that's disrespect to the men and woman who fought to keep that flag flying high for us...

that's just my opinion.
Here's a web page with some patches that croatian firefighters wear on their uniforms.

Same type of amblem is often on the car/truck door.

On personal protective equipment there's a writen sign on the back of volunteer or professional department.

Some helmets have official croatian firefighter amblem on front.

Yes, on both. I think every firefighter should have a good understanding of flag etiquette. www.usflag.org/flagetiquette

(btw...the picture of your uniformed officer above, I believe, has the wrong orientation of the flag on his right shoulder...the union (field of stars) should be closest to your heart...this is why they make flag patches with union to the right...just sayin')
Yes we have Canadian flag decals on our trucks as well as actual flags Our bunker gear also has Canadian flag pactches
Yes we have flags on all our trucks and everyone has one on their uniform, job shirts, and jackets.
No on the uniforms and no on the apparatus
