Big mistake: Bank robbery turns out to be false alarm

Officers had their guns drawn at the Wachovia Bank at 1119 Broad Street during what was thought to be a robbery attempt. In actuality, a courier, Charles Montgomery, was trying to make a deposit for his company.

JACKSONBORO, S.C. -- Colleton County Fire Rescue Engine 601 was involved in an MVA, injuring a firefighter.
The 25-year-old firefighter is now in stable condition and is being treated at the Medical University of South Carolina.
He has broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a broken leg. The engine, however, is totaled and beyond repair.

SUMTER COUNTY (WLTX) - Sumter firefighters were on the scene of a warehouse fire just outside of downtown Sumter Monday afternoon. As of 11 p.m. Monday, about 50 crew members were still on the scene.
The warehouse caught fire just after 2 p.m.

Well it is Friday and has been another slow week here at the station. I Have sat and listened to everyone run but me. But thats every week here at Mayesville 5. Well I did it today I passed my practicals for my EMT I class I am half way their. I will admit I was not sure of my pt. assessment skills for trauma but it all fell together while doing the work station. Well I have to schedule my written test now so I guess it is still time to hit the books for a while longer.

BISHOPVILLE, SC (WIS) - A fire station caught on fire Tuesday night. It happened in the small town of Bishopville. The fast response of Lee County firefighters and emergency workers helped avoid a total loss.
