Another Slow Week
Well it is Friday and has been another slow week here at the station. I Have sat and listened to everyone run but me. But thats every week here at Mayesville 5. But on the bright side I started part time with EMS last week so their will be a little excitement in my week come the weekend. I guess you could say I have the good and the bad of it all. So far this morning their has been 3 MVA.s on the outher side of the county and one house/grass fire on my side but out of my response area. So I sit and chomp at the bitts to here those words station 5 respond to the call....lol But I have had the daily visit from one of the firefighters onthe station and it is going to be a big task to teach her how to operate and drive the truck so look out Sumter the streets want be safe around Mayesville for a while.....lol
Well that brings me to a close with this so toall my friends and familey out here in the public service world take care and stay safe.

Be great full!!!...I love not having calls, when I start in the middle 70's, it was urban renew, two or three structures a shift, MVAs,during brush season we ran are buts off. Then in 1997 we merged with EMS, thank God I was on a Tanker by then. I was able to go to school, and do some training, the only time I went out is when something was burning. When I wanted to work overtime I would ride up, that would keep my skills up.

Don't feel to bad we've been quiet in our district also.We've only ran 3 call's since sunday.1 house fire,a propane tank leak and a mutual aid call for emt's.I'm also listining to the pager to all the call's going out around us.Oh well I kind of like it quiet.You just never know.
