Well I answered her question by saying it was fun and exciting. Never a dull moment and always enjoy helping outhers and she was happy to know that. But in reality being a fire fighter means more to me than just that. Being a fire fighter is more of a life than just helping outhers. It is love and compashion for outhers. It is giving of your self unselfishley to help outhers with out a thanks in return.

It is a brother hood of men and women who enjoy what they do. We as fire fighters have a special bond to each outher as we go through our daily lives. We live together, we laugh together, and we cry together. We see more in a week than most people see in a life time. We are just ordinary people doing extrodinary job's.

We answer the call every time we are called upon. Wreather it be just a kid who has their thoumb stuck in the heater vent or the little lady who has fallen out of her bed who can't walk. We rush in to a burning building with out thinking about wreather or not we will return. We just do it and don't think about it. We arrive on scean to see cars twisted in to a pretizel and begin to give care to those who need it cause we care.

We each come back to the house and say what a ride that was but in reality it is just our way of saying I hope they are ok. We call the hospitial to see if those we helped are ok. We cry when one of our own has fallen or been hurt. We cry tears of joy when we hear thank you for a job well done.

So you see it takes a special kind of person to do the job. Fire fighters come and go but it is the special one's that stay and say man I love this job. Just like our brothers and sisters who gave their lives in the twin towers on 9/11/01. We each would have done the same as they did the 343 of FDNY and outher departments around this great country we call America. So the next time you see a firefighter giving first aid to a person or see them cutting outhers out fo a car so they have a chance to survive just stop and say a little prayor for us cause we do what we love to do and that is to help outhers.
