Why I Joined Fire/EMS
To help people in their times of need. Fighting fires is one thing I'm really good at. I got into EMS to help my department expand and found that I enjoy this as much as putting out fires.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
When people are still alive and knowing I made the difference.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
The Fire Service is starting to move faster at getting safer and more efficient but the money doesn't come in fast enough for the smaller Departments to keep up on the required training.
The EMS training is very good except where an EMT-B is not trained or allowed to do things that a child could do, examples: take and read blood sugar readings, give insulin. We need to be trained harder and given a lot more responsibility to help patients on the scene.

Through everything I've been through since I've always had my brothers and sisters right there when I need them most. I love what I do…
