Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Originally joined the fire department as a paramedic upon my discharge from the US Navy where I served as a Hospital Corpsman. I moved around alot as a kid, and always knew I wanted to be a firefighter, because no matter where I moved to, the fire dept was always there and something I could rely on in my uncertain life.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The way the Lord has used the Fire Service & EMS to allow me to plant many seeds
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Emotional well-being of front line responders, Follow-up counseling and care for both the victims and the hose jockeys, medics and cops on the front lines, who deal with more in a 24hr shift, than most civies do in 24 years. It's getting better, but remains a problem, especially for outside professionals trying to offer help, and be taken seriously by us in public safety.

Hey Ken,
I just got home from MidWest City. I loved it there. Didn't get a chance to go into the Firefighter's museum though. I'm planning on going next time I'm there. There were several structure fire when I was there including the Children's Hospital under construction.
