- been an emt/d for 23yr and a cpr instr for10yrs. i've taken extrication I,II,and bus extrication. ice water rescue and cold water rescue, big animal rescue, boat rescue, rehab for ff.

- i am married for 23yrs now and enjoy running ems calls, together we have a m/c and use that to get away and relax. we truly love getting away with our bike. i have been dx with lupus for 10yrs now and the lupus seems to be winning at this point. but i'm doing a hell of job fighting bac!!

- Why I Joined Fire/EMS
- i joined the fire/ems/rescue because i wanted to help people at their worst time of their life, and be the first one there to hold their hand. to be sure no one including me would do no harm to them. i never have nor never will i ever hurt a pt. i know what's it's like to be a pt and to need help. to be scared that someone will miss what is hurting and i have lived my 23yrs trying to never let that happen and error on the side of the pt. and i feel i have always!!!!

- because people at thier worst will call 911 an trust me to help them and do no harm to them but to help them and i am forever greatful to be able to do that what a gift
- Top Issues Facing Responders:
- we have become robots and dont use the gift's that were given to us as emt's. the gift of touch! there is nothing more making a pt feel safe then the touch of a human hand. we use the p/o and the b/p cuff and the this gadget and that gadget and we forget the most important thing touch.

why do we do what we do?

In my many years in the fire/ems service I have seen officers come and go! Some very good one's and others you could not wait till voting time to get them out. But either way why do they run for office? Why do they take one all the extra responsibility? Is it the while helmet? The radio? The getting to boss the people under around? Or is it to make a difference, regardless how small a difference is it to make one. To be the best at what you do, to help others grow in the service and get them… Continue
Accountability do we do it or not?

Accountability all Fire Company's talk about it. Some thought of how to do it. Some company's
even go as far as to issue accountability tags. There are all different form of the tags that are issued out
there. If we finally get the tags with the persons picture on them with, there rank on them and the fire
company name. Everything is so far so far so good. Now you have to train your people to use the tags.
