Thanks for the additional Bill. I was a Firefighter for only a couple of years when the GCFD fire happened. I feel the same way - Watching it truly reinforces why it's important to train not only on preventing these types of situations, but how to act/react if they ever occur. When you have someone that was actually there, it legitimizes and drives the point home even that much more.

My Dad lost two of his friends and fellow Firefighters at a job he was in charge of back in 1981. It hit him and everyone involved hard. As young as I was I will never forget that and to this day it's one of the reasons why I'm such a believer in Firefighter Rescue/Survival and Rapid Intervention training.

Take care and stay in touch brother,
Dale

Hey Bill,
I heard about it via an email from FirefighterCloseCalls.com.
It's a 2-day symposium being held at "The Rock". All lecture, but covering about 12 different topics and delivered by various FDNY Batt Chiefs and Ops Chiefs.
Not sure about availability, but if you call the number on the registration site, they're very helpful.

So are you guys on the southern tip of the state or the northern tip? Snowing here now. But it looks as if we will be getting rain/snow/ice on Christmas day.

Hey Capt. Congrats on winning and getting re-elected. I am sure that you will find a way to bring even the most wayward one into the fold. Are you guys getting hammered with the snow storm. It is missing us up here in Central New York.

Stay Safe and have Merry Christmas!

Hey There! I hope that things are going well for you. I haven't been on the site much as of late. Lot's of studying for my EMT class. Only 2 weeks left. We have our "hands on" final on the 12th and our written final on the 17th. Man this has been a long class!

Hey there! I just wanted to stop by and see how things were going? And be the first one to say Welcome to September! Where did the summer go? I am getting knee deep into my EMT class now. So we will see how it goes. Stay Safe

Hey there! Just dropped by to say hello. Not too much going on here. We have our annual open house and company inspection today. This past week we had a 2 story frying pan fire. Kept is confined to the kitchen and the stove. But it was a hot hot and humid night nonetheless. Stay Safe.
