One woman is dead following an early morning house fire on Stark Street in the City of Tonawanda.

Chief Charles Stuart says flames erupted in the rear of 86 Stark Street around 6:30 this morning. When firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed.

A 45-year-old Erie, Pa., man rolled his tractor trailer Thursday morning after striking the CSX railroad overpass on Young Street in the City of Tonawanda.

Fire causes $60,000 damage at Tonawanda auto shop



City of Tonawanda fire officials suspect that a faulty waste-oil furnace may have sparked a fire that left $60,000 damage to an auto-repair facility on Young Street early this morning.

i had my first fire at work 2 weeks ago today, a hot billett fell under a press and ignited a shovel in the basement and the oil under the floor grates, now i see why the said you never turn your back on a fire. i used 2 dry chem extinguishers. after i used the first one the fire flashed up on me, and again after the second one, until i was able to get a hose line to knock it down



the only ppe i had was an MSA AIRHAWK industrial air pack.
