BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - - Thruway Authority Announces Northbound Lanes Temporarily Closed Between Interchanges 9 and 11 on I-190. Motorists Advised to Seek Alternate Routes.
The New York State Thruway Authority announced that all northbound lanes on I-190 between Interchanges 9 (Peace Bridge, Canada, Porter Avenue) and 11 (Scajaquada Expressway, Route 198) are temporarily closed due to a fire in the vicinity of the Thruway. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes at this time.
The Authority has activated its Dynamic Message System (DMS) and issued a TRANSalert to advise motorists of the closure. At least one northbound lane will be reopened as soon as conditions safely permit.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this time.
Route 266 (Niagara Street) is also closed from West Ferry Street to Albany Street in the City of Buffalo in Erie County due to a structure fire.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A fire on the west side of Buffalo has gone to a three alarm.
Firefighters had to call in extra help Monday afternoon with the fire that broke out Monday morning in a warehouse for Leisure Living Pool Supplies.
Police are advising residents on Niagara Street to keep windows closed because they don't know what kind of particles are in the air.
That is per orders of the Buffalo Fire Department.
It's not clear at this time why the fire flared up again.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - We can tell you that the fire broke out in a warehouse for Leisure Living Pool Supplies. It's operated by Leisure Pools.
Buffalo Fire's Haz-Mat team has been called out because of the potential for hazardous chemicals.
For a time thick black smoke filled the skies over the west side, blocking out the sun.
The warehouse is adjacent to the Rich Product Headquarters so both Leisure Living's warehouse and Rich Products have been evacuated.
There are no reports of any injuries, but as one witness put it, things were scary for quite some time."
Frank Hovarth, a neighbor said, "I Thought maybe the Dairy Products was on burning. I don't live like a block from it, and there has been a lot of fires around here.
Does that concern you?
Frank Hovarth: "Yeah, quite a bit. I have an abandoned house next to me too."
Hobarth was referring to the some of the areas around Rich Products on the west side. We're looking to get additional details on this as a press conference is being assembled by Buffalo Police and Fire.
