The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

I hate to think of it there. I know a few times that I called my brother out there, he told me to hold on while he found a place to park so he could talk to me.

Knowing how much traffic there is out there, the texting while driving thing scares the hell out of me!!

lol

but it is still a learning experience even days later, aye?

yes commuter traffic - knows what lane to be in - so no last minute sudden lane changes

though here texting while driving is QUICKLY surpassing the rate of drunk drivers killing people

That it does...

any time we heard of a 70+ car pile up in Cali we ususally chalked it up to an out-of-stater who was not going with the flow of traffic (i.e. foggy out, traffic running about 65-70, out-of-stater running about 40)

Yea - about 90 miles from Beverly Hills and the regions you mentioned.

For a while I worked in Glendale - that drive from my house sucked. That was right off the 101/134. Those interchanges are a wreck. The freeways out San Bernardino way are much better.

They have now built the 210 E/W all the way into San Bernardino which runs parallel to the 10 E/W - north of the 10 - it has substantially relaxed the traffic on the 10 coming in and out of Los Angeles .

I love to drive - so traffic does not really bother me. I am not prone to road rage - like some others I know. So I just chill in my car and sing to my radio. But some other drivers get a little stressed and erratic when they drive in the dark, or in the rain, or in lots of traffic and they mess up the flow of commuter traffic which has a rhythm about it.

BTW, Oxnard is in the southern tip of Ventura County
