I don't think I have caught that commercial yet, will have to see if the wife will leave the TV alone once in a while...LOL!!

Both of those rules sound great, might have to try them out in the near future...hehehe

I remember hearing about that train accident. That was horrible.

I agree with you there, but, that would make for some pretty scary stats!!

One of my favorite rules for teens - phone locked in trunk - when car is turned on.

2nd one - phone in purse IN THE BACK SEAT AT ALL TIMES or in the back pocket of the car seat

Have you seen the commercial where the dad is driving with his daughter and she starts texting and teh dad grabs the phone and throws it out of the car window - as he says to the daughter "we talked about this!"

It would be interesting if they put in cameras at traffic lights to see how many are on their phones at traffic lights - or pass through an intersection with their phone in their hand - which for me is grounds for a ticket.

now they are writing tickets here based upon witness report of cell / text use...

especially during an accident

there was a large Metrolink Train accident a few years (1-3 +/-) back in which the driver missed a signal (1 split second) because he was texting - he is dead now - and a bunch others - as they hit another train head on

funny you should mention that jamming device idea as the oldest here will be eligible for her license in about a month and a half....oh boy...scary
