The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Ernie, it will come with time, they made us do it over and over again, we only had 1 minute. I guess its still the same.

Joyce, that is a bummer when they're down, you're either bored during your shift, or you have to work your crews to their limit

Izzy- Yeah, still need to work on my time for donning both...get down to one or both gloves when I run out of time...getting closer anyway, just need to practice more so it does become second nature.

Joyce- That's a bummer...suppose that makes for a long shift when they can't fly.

yeah Heather, gotta admit, that can be a little un-nerving... LOL

and ya gotta feel a little bad for your driver, especially if it happens to be a FF, usually clueless, and here ya are, telling them to pull over.......

good for you, Ernie.... it'll become second nature ..... you'll do just fine.

wish we lived closer, I would love to be at some of those trainings with y'all, or better yet, be one of the proctors during testing.

LOL.... talk about a ball buster.....

yeah - we would often find weapons during transport - after a rapid extrication - and during assessment in the back of the ambulance.

Then you a have the hospital security take the weapon from the ambulance.

We have had to pull over to put the gun in an outside compartment.

And on more than one occasion UNCOCK the gun found on the patient...

That made for about the fourth time for donning my PPE and SCBA today.

Thanks Heather and Izzy- getting better all the time...

Ironically, the tone went out about a half hour or so after we got done with practicing some of the practicals in our Cert. FF class.
