There are free online typing tests which will help you improve your speed and accuracy.

I took the local disatcher test here - I did not think it was that difficult since I knew the lingo and could just focus on the task.

If you can't get on 911 look into PD or sheriff or other types of dispatcher jobs to build your skills.

yes...it is the city dispatch along with the 911 call center for about 6 counties total if I remember correctly.

very true...of course, if I can get the position I am currently pursuing, I figure it would probably be the same type of shift after training.
