The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

stay safe if you're dealing with this damn endless rain. dispatch posted on facebook that they got 40 calls in 7 hours. 26 were for flooded basements. roads are under water all over the place. we've picked up about 4" of rain and it's still coming down. luckily people in my area are being safe as we haven't had any mva calls. my cellar is dry for the moment but i'm keeping an eye on it. at least i'm not near a major river.

first, congrats to felicia. lol, now you're going to wish therewere no calls. chief, i need coffee. we were doing eqipments checks last night when a call came in for an mva. all patients refused treatment as the vehicles were in worse shape than they were. we did discover one major problem in that we don't have enough highway vests for all people on the trucks. 4 people can fit in the rescue but we only have 2 vests. i was forced to stand on the side and just watch. makes you feel kind of helpless even though all patients were fine. i ended up talking to the driver of one of the cars. he admitted that it was his fault. sometimes just having someone listen makes a patient feel better. i know they have to be scared in a situation like that. chief is working on gettin enough vests in each truck for each person in there.

Thanks Chief Fance. It was "hard" work ensuring both States communicated to acheive this. I even emailed CT and NC OEMS thanking them for all their hard work and time helping me. Not too many people would have consider sending out a "thank you" but never have no problems complaining.... :0)
