The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Hmmm, something about seems familiar. Doctors, nurses, EMTs/Paramedics, basically all medical professionals ... Oh, I remember! They all make the WORST patients! LOL!!

Love it!!

Ya know the best way I have found to deal with diabetics (especially women!)? Remind them of the cracked heels (nasty looking during the Summer!), amputations of foot/leg (takes all the fun out of buying a "pair" of shoes!), blindness (hard to put on makeup when one is blind!), etc.

And no, I do not take diabetes lightly, but one can only do so much when a patient is not going to do what they should. Been there, done that with family and friends! Argh!!

Don't make me come up there and rescue the kitties!!

Have you checked out the glycaemic index? Great tool for diabetics!

When I cooked professionally, I also taught cooking and really enjoyed showing people how to cook nutritionally. Watching their faces light up when they tasted what they had made was so cool! Whether they were on reduced fat, sugar, sodium, it didn't matter. All in the prep!

Down here in the sunny semi-south, it is drizzling and about 55 degrees!! Hopefully, we will get back to Spring come the weekend!

Ralph, regarding the "wicked wind", no more baked beans for you buster!! :D

Thanks Chief!! Glad you got your coffee!! The probies are each being given a an old, used, toothrush and one slightly damp paper towel to get the powdered sugar (from the doughnuts) off the tile around the pool. Teach them to mess with us, eh?!?! :D

Hey Steve ... I think it depends if whether or not they are armed and on what terms they parted!! :D

Hey Chief!! So glad to hear about your mom!! Wonderful news! Thanks for checking up on Cap ... have been worried and saying prayers. Don't know the man, but enjoyed chatting with him!

Okay ... send the probies back to the spa! I will deal with them for being there on "Girls Day"! We had arranged for pool boys, not male probies! They don't have enough training yet for our purposes. Plus, the turnout gear was tad bit cumbersome in the water! Also, I will make sure they understand the severity of the infraction when it comes to not making your coffee!! Slaggards!!!

Hey Ralph, it is sad, but also very sweet! Amazing and touching to know love like that really does exist!

Chief Mike, I'm sorry...I didn't mean to run him off the road. He startled me. He was showing off his new black pipes...and it was LOUD!!!! I had to pass him so I can hear my music.

Ralph, how about a Rockstar with vodka? That might do it.
