The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

It's great that there is a place that we can come and chat with other firefighters and people who know what we go through everyday! Stay safe everyone!

Rossi, you are killing me! That is hilarious! And here FW is, trying to put it "nicely" when I said I would slap him into next week ... I had deleted original comment which was slap the shit out him!! You take one side and I will take the other ... see which slap works better, eh??

Hmmm, wish I could take that kind of weather you have out there. Sounds like I could find me a MAN!!! Crap, I just cracked myself up and spit coffee all over my desk! Be right back ...

Maria, you and I are in the same boat. That is why I remain single. My ex developed a certain sense of jealousy to a point where he got jealous of me spending time with my family, nephews, nieces, etc. How pathetic is that?

My job requires interaction with engineers, project engineers, contractors, field workers, craft, etc. Basically it's a man's world. I go to meetings surrounded by men, sometimes I'm the only female in the room. Not to mention the smallest one. Heck the FD alone only has a few women and I deal with them everyday. Like you said, they're big brothers and sisters to me, protective and caring. Some people understand that, some don't. If my ex found out I interact with ALL of them (70 to be exact), shit would hit that fan.

FW is right. It is a matter of trust. Trust is a very big word for me and I don't take that very lightly. And I would have bitch slapped him on the hooters comments. No threats to people you love. You just don't do that!!!!!! I've been there, done that, got rid of him!!!! Don't need that crap.

We love you like a Sistah and when someone hurts you it hurts us, too. That's just how it is with family. Get that through his thick head.

Ok, back to work. I'm almost done with our Commemorative Coin design. Revision one from the Chief - he's got great input but tells me not to argue with him. Should that stop me? Uh- NO!!!!

Next project, tunnel design...hhhhmmmmm. I'm claustophobic. Hate tunnels. Don't like going in them. YIKES!!!! Should I tell my ex I'll be interacting with the miners? N.O.T.!!!!!! None of his business!!!!

Yep, that would be me blowing a gasket when I read your post! :D Kiddo, we've got your six any time!!

John, I tend to be of the "jinx" school. Not really superstitious, but what you described sounds like my life and I call that a jinx. I live by "Murphy's Law" because it just makes life a whole lot easier! Sorry about your scheduled time off being impacted! See, if this had happened yesterday, you could have posted it for "she who shall not be named" so she could see what happens when you date/marry a firefighter! LOL!!

Maria, be very glad I do not live near you!!! For that Hooters comment, I would have slapped your boyfriend into next week!! Sorry, my friend, but how pathetic! And this alone tells you how fond of you FW is because she is really, really, really, refraining from letting loose since it is obvious you care for this man. FW does not like it when men/women mess with her pals ... tends to make her cranky ... just ask Ralph and Chief what happens when FW gets cranky!! Not a pretty picture and tends to get alerts posted on NOAA!

Thanks for the input Mikey ... this was sort of what I was telling Maria - trust.

Maria some men just don't like "their woman" spending a lot of time with other guys and the coin goes both ways. Personally I don't understand the jealosy without cause. My fiancee' don't mind me working with women as long as it's just working which is all it is and it's all it's going to be.

John around here we have a few. Don't say "it's been a quiet day/night" unless you want to get real busy real fast. Don't carry white cigarette lighters they are bad luck. There's a few others but it's too early in the morning and I haven't had coffee yet LOL. Good morning everyone hope all is well.

Hey Maria, it is very hard for any man to let a loved one step into a dangerous situation ... it goes against every instinct they have. This is something where he must learn to trust you and your skills. Also, it can be tough for him knowing you develop close relationships with other men as part of the job - a must in order to trust your team members to have your six! Again, a matter of trust.

If he truly cares for you and trusts you, then he should be able to get his head around this and cope with it. Many men do so on a daily basis with wives and girlfriends who serve as firefighters, police and other law enforcement, etc. It is an inherent part of the women they love. To ask them to give it up is to not allow those women to fulfill their dreams and goals; something no one should ever do to another person: male or female.

Hopefully, he can learn to cope with this. Partnering a responder is not for the meek!!

Oh, and by the way, if you can't ask us something like this, then what the heck are we here for? Bingo?? LOL!! Hang tight kiddo!!

Wow sounds like your ready to go this morning FW as for me I'm still in need of some more sleep. I think I may have had a little to much fun yesturday.

Damn, is it morning already?!?! Crap! Okay ... I'm awake, I'm awake! Long night ... sigh ...

Okay, GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!! Happy Tuesday!!! Smile because it is another beautiful day in Nashville and all these other GLORIOUS places you all live (or work!)!! Can't you smell those sweet, sweet, roses?? Awww, look at those nice police officers over there helping those civilians with their worries, how wonderful ... THUMP!! Oops, well, one less, but hey, who is counting, eh?! Hmmm, wonder if that one was named Francesca ...

Good morning Chief ... let me grab a cuppa and I will meet you and Matt in your office - THIS should be good!

Morning Maria, Jess, and John (and the rest of the crew when you get your happy asses to work!!), Firewriter is on a tear this morning - yesterday must have been the precursor for this day ... you HAVE been warned! Cover those innocent eyes and read no more posts from FW!!My mischief control mechanism blew out on the way to work so it is stuck in the, "ON", position!! I am really, really, really, going to try to get it working again, cause the blood is singing out to, "GO FOR IT!!" (Description of FW at this moment is sitting at desk with little horns sticking out, pointed tail swishing, and rubbing hands together while laughing maniacally!!)

Damn, where are those chains!! RANULFFFFFF!!! Heh, heh, heh ... RANULFFFFF!!! Damn it ... this is NOT funny!!! RANULLFFFFFFFFF!!
