The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Hey everyone, long see, no time... you know what I mean. Been busy, busy, busy.

First,

Son has started new school and is adjusting well. Uniforms, prayer, new faces, and stricter policies are pretty new to him at school. Sailing through it. Brings back memories of my private school days, hope he doesn't rebel like I did!

Have begun training with academy. Being trained by fire officers throughout several fire departments. Much like an ICS, about five different county departments are going through the same training so we'll be on the same page. Good to meet other recruits, good group of people. Learning proper procedure around my station in terms of usage and lines to follow between career and volunteer staff. Am getting used to my uniform.

Second academy, but is still very new in terms of the way my Dept. does things. Just had SCBA training. Blackout while following a path of hose lines through building, small spaces, dangling wires and instructor interference( turn off air pack, triggering pass devise, etc...)

Having a great time. Good to see everyone, and talk to you again soon.

FW, my english is starting to sound like Irish english....actually pretty good at it now. I can say I'm tri-lingual. Hahahahaha. Jameson Special Reserve bottle is my target. Both 12 and 18yrs. Not cheap but it's worth it. I don't drink it but these are for special friends. I am a little better, thanks, but still hackin' a few. Need more Irish coffee with less coffee and more cream. LOL

Packing my stuff and getting ready for my trip back to the good 'ol US of A. Don't really care what they say about our country but it is still THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!!!!!

Hondo, we'll back you up on the Deputy Chief position. You got our back dude.

Jess, take it easy on the class. Don't work hard but work smarter instead.

Ralph, ni-nite ol buddy. Glad your rig passed. sleep tight.

Chief, I'll haller if I end up in your neighborhood this weekend.

Good morning all!! For anyone interested, Chief stopped in over at the "Morning Coffee Table" and made a very, nice, crunchy pot of coffee for us ... something about there not being any filters?!

Ralph, ain't silence grand?!?! Bet that doc had a "feel good" moment there!! Enjoy the inspection!!

Jess ... how is your world?? Still busy, busy, busy??

Rossi, me darlin', how ye be likin' the land o' the wee people? The whiskey is amazing, but wait until you hit Scotland and Her Uisge Beatha (Scot's Gaelic for whiskey)! It is excellent ... and I am not really much of a whiskey drinker (I know, I know, sacrilege!!). Hope you are feeling better and having a great time!! Oh, and I mailed your top via Leprechaun Air ... should be there in a few minutes! LOL!

Matt, fantastic news!! Thanks for your service to our great country and all She holds true! Good luck with the recruiter position!! Proud of you and your achievements kiddo!!

Hondo, I am with Rossi ... just let us have the number and we will make some calls. Deputy Dawg, ooops! I mean, Deputy Chief has a nice ring to it!!

Two more days until FW heads northwest to MO ... you have been warned!!

Okay everyone! Have a good day, stay safe, and be good (NOT!).
