The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Ralph : My district covers about 10miles of RT 78 , 5 miles Rt 33 and 5 miles of Rt 22 in the middle eastern part of Pennsylvania , i am no more than 15 minutes from the New Jersey Border in an area called the Lehigh Valley , its surrounded by rural farmland but the highways cut through it , between both districts its roughly a 45-50 square mile area but with the lack of day crews and limited resources we have from time to time we rely on alot of mutual aid responses and sister stations

WOW Eric - why are these people crashing? texting? drinking? speeding? being dumb? WTF? What was it this time? That is a lot of fatal calls - take care of yourself - highways can be scary places to work. [glad you got some sleep]

Thank God - I had no freeway in my district! And now that I live in Southern California - there is a dramatic difference between the smooth flow of commuter traffic who knows where they are going as compared to holiday / weekend drivers who have no idea which of the 8 lanes to be in and make crazy erratic movements - very scary mixed in with the commuters.

And yes, Strawberry Frosted Raised "DUNKIN" Donuts - I don't know why - but they are like crack for me ;-) [good thing they no longer exist near my home or I might be 300 lbs of donut mass by now]

FW - GPS so smart! I can see the shower ball/chain rust issue may become a bit much. Cooking and dishes - does he have brother - I need one of them !

Ralph - "Healing Hands" ... you are such a tease...

Chad worked a million hours over the weekend, so no word from him today yet!

Ralph: Unfortunately the District i am in between the 2 companies i run with we have 3 major arteries that run through them and the traffic isnt getting any better , up untill 2 months ago the last fatal i worked was back in may or june , most of the major arteries here are divided highways with no barriers between the divisons other than a 50-60ft grass patch , unfortunately with 3 major metro areas surrounding us it makes for a lot of truck traffic and commuters

Unfortunately with the mix of drivers we have from 2 diffrent states converging together it makes it a little hairy just even trying to drive to work or even goto the store for that matter

Heather, she forgot to replace the battery in his micro-chip GPS! She had it installed the second year they were dating - felt the ball and chain would develop too many muscles on her arms when she had to take it off for him to shower! But, the great part is ... he is a Chef! So she gets great meals prepared for her that look as good as they taste ... and he does the dishes!!
