Hi - I am concerned that you closed the discussion

"Need Everyone's Urgent Opinion" Main Discussion.

I have spoken to that young girl author offline.

She is scared and is asking for our help. Even if you do not believe her, I DO !!! And I am a trained mental health professional !!! She needs to hear what other people think in a safe setting, so that she can anticipate what those on the offenders dept are going to say to her when she reports it to them.

She is afraid she will lose her job on the FD if she presses charges to the PD.

She is afraid of what the FD, especially the officers will think of her - seeing her as a troublemaker (your closing her topic supports that fear - that speaking up will get up SHUT UP and shut down and pushed out of the FD).

She is asking the brotherhood for help in guidance in a way that she feels comfortable - WE OWE HER THAT !!!

I know you don't know me at all, but I am a social worker and a therapist and a fire fighter/EMT. And ONE THING we know - when someone has experienced a sexual trauma - they have to discuss it in a forum that THEY FEEL comfortable... in their time... and we must give them the room to do it... and MUST make them feel safe to work through it.

She obviously feels comfortable on this site! Your site!

I ask you please to re-open her disucssion - and let her close it when she feels comfortable. She is already stating she will re-word it so as not to offend you. She should not be worried about offending you.

She is bringing no embarrassment to the FD - she is not discussing a specific dept or person - she is sharing her problem and asking for suggestions on how to solve her problem so she can feel safe again on the FD.

I have no doubt a lot of female fire fighters have experienced similar sexual harrassment / assualt issues - and they could learn from her post as well.

Thank you for listening. I feel safe on your site. I understand why she posted her worries here.

Hey FW Im just going to make sure I sleep on my back so Heather will stay away from my Butt and for extra armor I just ate my buddies screen door chili. So if she gets too close she better have on a hazmat suit with SCBA. LMAO

FW, you really should go to Belgium and try them freshly made.... OMG it is totally different from what you get here.
