@FW "I DO"...shoot that got me in trouble the last time I said it.
I want you to know...being the man of honor that I am I left a nice note and removed myself from the "GIRLS CLUB". It's the man in me that when a woman (Heather) tells me I can't do something....I just gotta go do it.
Unless it's like "Don't take the trash out or Don't shovel the driveway" then I take it for face value. :>

Chief, no need to defend yourself. All of us in there were invited; you responded just as we did. The invite was meant in good faith as all of the women in the room who know you, respect you, and appreciate your insight.

This is one of those rare times something back-fired. It's all good.

Chief, I will throw out my "bit" on this issue; then let it rest. I think the Female EMS group is one which needs to remain, "female only". It came about due to some very personal issues women were having on this site, as well as at their fire halls. Chief, no matter how well you walk that line; in the end, you are still a man.

Yes, it is always good to see both sides of any issue; but, the "Female EMS" room was created as a support network for women who have to take verbal (and possibly physical) abuse from men as a daily part of their work (and, in some cases, home) lives. To put a male in there - no matter HOW supportive he might be - destroys the freedom to speak openly and honestly for some women. Thus, destroying the purpose of the room. No matter how strong we women may be; to have to put up with this crap every day, erodes even the mightiest of us.

I have thick skin no worries, I'm the FD's chew toy and I (think anyway) I'm a good sport about it, it's all in the fun.

Everyone has to go through it, its a part of becoming part of the family.

Some make it some dont, but the ones that make it, they have a new family.
