What is a good technique or tool for placing a patient into their wheelchair when they have fallen out. I see that there is a thing called a Res-Q sling, has anyone used this. Is there a technique using webbing tied into a sling.
Thanks
If your alone you might stand at their feet and using their arms pull them up towards you with their feet up against yours. Or simply have two people under each arm lift them up an into the chair.
Presuming they are uninjured, and are able to support their own weight for a short time, I will get up under their arms. Crossing their arms in front and grasping opposite wrists. Utilizing proper lifting technique, assist them to stand, and back into the wheel chair.
If they are a little "larger" it might be better with 2 people from each side.
Two person lift is the best i think
its also a good idea to check if they are bagged especally if its only one person trying to lift them the last thing you want to do is disterb them
