Hello everyone, In my old station everyone carried different things in their bunker gear. Im trying to figure out what items would be best to carry that can be in both Fire and EMS call. So I throw out the question whats in yours, and maybe a reason why. Thanks.

rt leg pocket- 12'tubluar webbing, flash hood, spanner wrenches two cause sometimes you got to hook stuff up yourself, flash hood goes on under coat so should be in pants pocket

left leg pocket-gloves so far

coat pockets-ems gloves, radio, flashlight, knife

but i dont have enough toys yet

Some doggie treats, flashlight, and a few tools.  If you have to ask about the doggie treats, well if you ever entered a house fire with an upset dog, then you're definitely up a creek without a paddle.

right suspender- multitool

left suspender - 2 pair latex gloves

right thigh pocket - right rescue glove

                            right fire glove (spare)

                            utility knife

left thigh pocket-    left rescue glove

                            left fire glove (spare)

                            flip tip screw driver

                            linemans plier

                            small cresent wrench

flashlight (non battery powered- shake it and it works for a little then shake some more

                            sharpie

                            medium sized locking knife

right jacket pocket - right fire glove

left jacket pocket -   left fire glove

                             20' of 1" webbing

inside coat pocket- spare nomex hood

when it hovers around 0 it is nice to be able to pull out spare gloves and nomex that arnt quite soaked with water for overhaul. Lineman pliers serve as pliers, cutters and small hammer. Flip tip screwdriver has #2 blades for phillips and regular screws, also serves as window punch when used with lineman pliers. Non battery powered flashlight is useful since i dont have to keep fresh batteries in it and is only there if the streamlight fails. No sense carrying the whole tool box with me, we have juniors to run to the truck, but it is enough to get me out of most of the trouble I get myself into.

BTW...I'm left handed so all the important stuff is positioned to be easily accesible with my left hand

Took the words...or rather WORD...right out of my mouth!!!

As an Engine man;

I carry rope, extra nozzles, portable pump, a high-rise kit and a ladder company just in case they are actually needed...

LOL

Just my self rescue rope, flashlights, folding spanner/multi tool with gas shut-off window punch and pry bar, shove knife, nomex hood.  In the winter months I carry some of the hand warming pouches.

When younger I carried everytning in the tool box and the kitchen sink, but experience (and station theft) has lightened the load and I only carry what is needed.  Less weight, and clutter.

i carry a multitool and my extrication gloves in my coat pockets and a piece of webbing with a beaner on it and then spanners in my other pant pocket

Hand sanitizer? no offense, but why not just carry that on the apparatus for everybody?

Maybe he means "in" his bunker pants?

Is there anything left on the trucks?  LOL  KIDDING!!

Thats a lot of stuff brother, do you ever have fatigue issues or any issues with the extra weight in your gear?  Just curious, no insult meant.

Stay Safe.

Wow...  Speechless....

it may seem kind of bulky but in a zippered pouch i used to carry 10' of flat web and a carabier, SAE & metric allen keys, phillips and flat screwdrivers, earplugs, safety glasses, wire cutters, spare flashlight, police whistle, chalk, wedges

Left Jacket pocket has a Hazmat Code card and a Crew Leaders Pocket Check List, Flash Hood goes on before my Bunker Coat, gloves are held by velcro straps on the left breast of the coat, pretty much everything else we use or could use is on the truck except for a pocket knife which I always carry in my trousers pocket, oh, and torch is on my helmet
