Some firefighters will and unfortunately many will not. The US Fire Service is deeply instilled in tradition with the aggressive interior fire attack. In time, I hope we will see greater focus on risk verse gain with the ever changing lightweight construction.

There isn't really a "US" style though. Every department here is very different. I used to work for a suburban department. Some of the rural departments thought we were too aggressive. Now I work for an urban large city department which happens to be one of the busiest in the country. We do things here that the suburban departments think we are crazy for. So the range of tactics from most volunteer departments to large career departments differ greatly and are actually nothing alike.
You have to do what works for YOUR department. Not what works for others. I read comments on all of the YouTube videos of us. Some comment on how they think we are stupid because we do nothing by the book. They say we are too agressive and dangerous. In my opinion, they are morons. They only know what to do if the book says it. We do things our way because we have good staffing, more experience due to the age of the department and the high run volume, and because we have A LOT more training than volunteer departments. That's why I always preach that it's a different job. I've worked both and can vouch for that. Some of the idiots also say that we can't be so aggressive because of the lightweight construction while watching a video of us. The guy just bases that off of what he read when in reality the building in the video IS NOT lightweight construction.

I've been a firefighter for many moons now and started in the States also, then went to Australia and was trained there. Since returning to the states (it's good to be home after having a diversion to Afghanistan for a few years) I've found it more difficult and close doored than ever before. It seems that I now have to go back through fire school again (yep that's right) to certify, since I went through the academy before the Pro Board/IFSAC thing. Since being trained in Australia (though the training is similar, this goes to add the rest of the world in, wet stuff on red burny stuff) I now have to go back through the academy again to be certified in a job I have done for 16 years! There is a bit of lunacy here and elitism methinks.
I'm not saying this is an impossible task for you to do, and I for one am interested in hearing what you have to say, though I'm afraid that some of the more traditional folks here (there's alot of em) will be less than willing to hear what you have to say. Only after being bludgened a few times by a wooden (traditional) baseball bat will they realize that this might be a good way of doing things, or at least something to try.
I beleive to move forward we do need to share, and this goes both ways not just one, if we are both open and willing to try one anothers way, who knows what could happen?

I know,what you´r saying,we got the same folks over here(mostly the older Guys,above 45) who think traditonal,i mean there is nothink bad about tradion,but we should be open for new stuff!When i was over in the U.S i learned alot about Forcilbe Entry and took it back home!now we are using it,and it brought alot to our Team!I also took some usefull equipment over!I also had some U.S FF over this June,same with them!I think its always good to learn from each other,to see/feel thinks different!
I am open for pretty much everythink!
As an exampel,if there is a Fire(reported)we always go in togther,as a group,never alone,and have a backup group rdy,incase for an Mayday,Always!

man i know one thing that f1 helmet yall have over in england looks like a fighter pilots more than a fireman got one on my desk its pretty cool i think im going to put a shield on it lol hahahaha
