... Who, me?? No sir, I would NEVER do something like that! ... No, we weren't planning to roast those marshmallows!! ... It just sort of got a little bit out of control, but we were handling it!!
Yea I typically dont listen to the "music radio" while Im going on a call.....its often distracting to me....If IM in charge the second we get a run the music box goes off.
I am however partial to the song "Break Stuff" by Limpbizcit.....a perfect truck company song.
Ohhhhh, you SO didn't go there!! With your permission, will reprint the Spears comment on FB ... too perfect!! The others are also excellent!!
One great one from Meat Loaf - "Objects in the Rearview Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are": For the idiots blaring their radios who finally notice the fire apparatus sitting on their tail!!
Now I have a picture in my mind of Bobcat Goldthwait (Police Academy actor) making those weird sounds while shouting over the PA en route!! Groannnn ...
It is obvious that I will share the same opinionas our brothers and sisters. In my house we have a sterile cockpit when responding. We only discuss the task at hand. On the way home is another subject though. If it was a good scene and the Cap is happy (98% of the time I am because we did a great job) then the tunes play. Here in SPOFR house 31 we have a station song, Tom Petty Won't back down. It is always the first song we play after a good song. I chose that song about three years ago for the house song. Everyone still loves it and it is pretty true to us, we don't back down. After that if there is still time then whomever I felt was the "VIP" for that call gets the next song choice.
Stay safe and continue to learn something new everyday.
First off, we shouldn't be listening to music responding to calls; on account of that extra noise in the cab when when we are listening to dispatch or incident command. But , I don't see anything wrong with listening to it after a call returning to station. Hypothetically speaking, if you were responding to a call and you were to listen to music, I'd like to hear "no one gets left behind" from Five Finger Death Punch
