If you are thinking of a good song to jam to going to a call then there is something wrong. There is no reason to be playing music in the trucks when you are running hot.
I have to agree for the most part...my engine is not the smoothest ride in the world and the bumps cause the 8 track player to jump tracks. But, it does work better than the old turn table we had in back. Needle would jump and skip and ruin the albums.
Hollywood... I don't need that kind of drama in my life. Radio stays off so I can hear the pager or the scanner (I have press credentials) and traffic sounds (PD coming up behind me, etc.) on the way to a call.
Going to a medic local, "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister; going to a crash, "Heading Out To The Highway" by Judas Priest; going to a lift assist, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" by The Hollies; going to get the cat from the tree, "What's New, Pussycat?" by Tom Jones; and for the working fire, "Hotter Than Hell" by Kiss.
These cover the range of call types and emotions that go with them very well and should never fail to get you into the right frame of mind to help the citizens when they need us. Take care and be safe.
As far as watching movies I just had (2) 18" flip down flat screens mounted in the back of the engine, with surround sound. Not really!! I just wanted to throw that out there.
Visual ... ice cream truck music coming out in between siren and horn! Yep, I am sick, definitely mental if that pops in my head when you mention music through PA!
