Working on the fireground is often very strenuous and stressful. In an effort to reduce some of the stress and promote more restful firefighters, the chief is trying some new tactics in structural firefighting . . .
After intensive testing this new procedure may be deployed around the nation. NFPA compliant recliners are currently going through field testing and should be available near late fall. An optional beer can holder is available along with a power recline feature. Currently heat & massage is not an available option.

being that this is just in the testing phase, the appropriate ANSI regulation high visabilty stripes have not been applied yet. The back of the recliner will have the stylish chevron pattern and optional LED strobes are available for the front of the arms with a pop-up circulating light for proper 360 degree visability.

Funny, but on a serious note. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, recently conducted testing and research on ways to efficiently rehab and reduce stress on the fire ground. What did they find? A modified lawn chair with ice and water bags in the arm rests works best.
