I have not seen this on here so lets try a new discussion. I started late in the field but if I could , I would love to be in the Denver area . Maybe Westminster or Thornton fire depatments would be good since I grew up there . I knew allot of the Westminster f.f. 's while I was young as a friends dad was on the dept . They always had a great dept. Where would you be and why?
I'd love to work for one of the Provincial Ministries of Natural Resources or for Parks Canada as a wildland guy and then continue volunteering with whatever local dept. I may live around if I got on. I do love were I am at though....but something about the wild lands I love......got a small taste for it when I was on a tiny vol. dept. in the Rockies....
Well my way of thinking is that as firefighters we are here to help those in need, so given a choice my answer would be Detroit, because I don't know of any other department that is under as much pressure as they are.
As for LAFD - well those helmets would be a turn off
Orange County Fire Authority (California)....impressed with what they have and how they train....and they don't have to worry about Engines freezing up tighter than a well diggers butt or tighter than a sailors butt in the shower
Im at a great volly house! My guys are verry aggressive and don't take no shit!
I would love to work in
Pittsburgh
Baltimore City
DCFD
or any where I can get on i've been testing every where
Ray, I love being at my dept in Wytheville, VA. I feel its the best in the world. Ive been there for 23 years. And we get better and closer each call. You could not ask for more than that.
Hm...I think..Boston. Being the oldest paid Municipal..Thats a big deal to me. And growing up in the Northeast..Ive always looked to them as the "Bad Ass' on the block.
