i have joind my fire house with no respect and i had to earn it by working hard like pulling hose or seting up the hydrent but mose of all if u work hard and stay on top of your game u come out with the most respect i maybe a yellow hat but they treat me like a black one so do well and stay safe
Now if you could only learn to spell and the English language you would really be on top of your game......It is the official language of this country you know.....Paul
That is great that you work hard and are earning the respect. But as Paul said, spelling and grammar play a big part on how you are viewed. Especially on a forum where the first impression everyone gets of you is your spelling and writing style.
So, all juniors, please PLEASE PLEASE pay attention to what you type and how you type. Use a spell check if needed.
Thanks Paul and thanks Cap. I am glad someone pays attention to the seemingly more and more postings that are written in the "unofficial language" of text. I have to wonder what the employers, looking to hire new people, think when they recieve resumes written in "text". Do they actually hire people that believe the texting way of everyday communications is acceptable? Somehow, I think the english teachers of the world have failed! No longer required it seems, are correct spelling, correct grammar, and puncuation marks, which for all new comers to the ENGLISH language, are used to end sentences.. as just one example.
yikes!
At my career department, we had an Explorer who the administration let go because he simply forgot the very same message that you hae already learned. Stay humble and work hard at whatever your task is. He just could not stay in his lane. he could not accept the fact the as an Explorer, he could not do everything that we did. he was not content with just observing so he constantly got out of his lane and overstepped his boundaries and that is why he is no longer with our department.
