You wake up and somebody hands you $20,000!!!! You are NOT allowed to pay bills, invest, or save the money. What are you buying or where are you going???? (this does not have to relate to the fire-service in anyway)(unless you want it too lol)
I am off to.. Walmart to get a new pair of lungs so I can return to the fire service. If only it were that simple... or cheap lol
Maybe I would buy lights for everyone who wants to put them on their POV?? ok ok.. I take it back.. just kidding.. lol
I guess I would simply have to donate all of it (except for 2 cents) to the smaller fire depts that can't afford to outfit their people with the basics...like turnout gear! yikes! I still have a hard time believing there are really depts. out there that expect their people to buy their own because the town governments won't! (not can't..WON'T )
The remaining 2 cents was for this post! lol
Stay safe folks!
This last quarter at the University of California Santa Barbara, an announcement was made that there was going to be a fee increase because of the budget shortfalls the state has been experiencing. Putting your kids through school, including the University was a budgeted item for us. We are all in the same boat here. You put away a little bit each month for use later on to pay for things like tuition and books, right? The tuition per quarter was $3200.00. The raise in tuition increased by $2500.00! Now, I have to pay $5700.00 per quarter... Hmmm... The $20,000 could help out with one-year of tuition for one of my three daughters...
or, I could say what the heck and blow everything off, see ya! I've got a warm place where they put umbrella's in the drinks in mind... Anyone want to come along?
Very nice replies from everyone on this! Have to thank Bob and Tom for the idea.... What about me you ask???? I guess a very large down payment on a new car... the 7.2 liter diesel isn't quite fuel efficient anymore lol.
Give it to My Mom and Dad to get them back home in Illinois. God knows I probably owe it to them anyway. But I can't pay off bills so think of it as a gift. :-)
I would fill my church food shelf, maybe get my passport and join a national disaster team worldwide and take care of some babys that were injured in Haiti, buy my mom all her medication she needs for her health, and mine. Make sure my daughter gets in a good college for she has a mild disability and really needs continuous education for her future, umm I think I spent more than I was suppose to but I just love helping people! lol
