color of fire apparatus

should the color of fire apparatus be red or lime green? or does it matter? why or why not?

I really dont care what color they are. We have red, our south neighbor has white, and to our west has lime green. Neither one of em sprays water any different.

I will try to get more pictures but here in Metro Manila (the exact place is Binondo) there is a Fire brigade with Purple trucks. Its the Ube Volunteer Brigade that is actually a private company paying for the trucks but they are manned by volunteers.

Jason, I have never seen a PURPLE & PINK Fire Truck with Yellow Flames
No disrespect, but that dosen't even look like a Fire Truck.
It looks like something you would see on the childrens show BARNEY & Friends
That is just plain UGLY

Haha, well, I invite you to come here and learn some of the local culture. I am sure you will find it interesting to see why purple. The Binondo Fire Department is actually a nice department and since its 100% volunteer that means 100% donations for gas, vehicles, everything and no government help or grants. If I had to choose a fire truck or no truck, I would choose to have a truck and purple, no one has a purple truck so its different. My one department here is government and we have two tender's and an SK Volvo Engine and my Volunteer Brigade has a Tender 2500 Gallon Fuso. Both my departments have red trucks. Also, I first thought Barney as well until I learned they are a great crew and trust them with my life everyday.

All I can say is come visit me here, you will see why I like it so much. Take your vacation and see the RED RED RED trucks and also see some amazing trucks here. We have Tender's engines, and even in Cebu they have 2 trucks that are from mainland China. I prefer Red trucks with Chevrons on the back that are reflective but frankly, we are happy with our tender at my volunteer department.

a fire truck be, it's just a preference of color, and I say RRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDD LOL
That's just my preference
