Devastating fire at the end of our street. My neighbors and I were chatting when we looked down the street and saw smoke. Called 911 and went down the street immediately. WOW! Owner said they were watching tv and heard a pop then smelled smoke very shortly after. Tried to walk out the garage door but it was already on fire. Barely had time to grab animals and get out. So sad for them. Send positive thoughts and/or prayers their way.

I disagree on the blocking the truck. A truck is not needed on this structure as it appears to be a single story. Ground ladders and 2.5 inch should be able to vent and or control it if it goes defensive. If anything the engine should have pulled forward to utilize their deck gun for a quick knockdown. The fire appears to be well involved into the house already. Garage fires are notoriously hard to knock down with an inch and 3/4... it will goe out but it usually takes a significant amount of time. My standard is to use a 2.5 inch attack line on any well involved garage fire. Nist studies are showing smooth bore attacks dont push fire much. I agree on the engine RPM and booster. Just my second guessing and opinion. Thanks all stay safe!

I agreee with all of you, bad tactics all around. They made some mistakes and I hope that they use this video as a refrence for training. The engine placement was inccorrect, just as John commented they screwed the truck company. The second engine secured the water supply but it appears that the engineer was either inexperinced or overwhelmed. There were plenty of blue shirts to handle the lines, a chief should have been opperating at the command level. And the booster as a second line, holy smokes, maybe for the flanable liquids from the car but not as the seconday attack line. Either way I am glad that nobody got hurt but I sincerely hope that they take the video as use it to learn from.

Wow. Bad place to spot the engine, they screwed the ladder company. The pump operator obviously didn't know what he was doing. He had the rpms WAY up there, you could see the guys on the hose struggling to control the line. Booster reel? Really? Maybe if they had stuck a foam eductor on the end for that gasoline burning I could see it. I gotta belive they had another line off, but I didn't see it. Lot of things could have been done better. Learn from this guys.

Hope the fire wasn't pushed into the house. Was that a booster reel pulled off the engine being used as a backup line? And it looked like the IC was walking all over the scene handling the booster, I saw numerous apparatus arrive on the scene. Of course if more man power was needed you could've have had a couple of the firefighters helping the driver bunker out. Running fuel fire in the driveway. Good training video.
