I worked for Rural Metro for 5 years, that is until they left town. I enjoyed my time there.
My Training:
Firefighter training Through Sumter FD, I was a volunteer for a year or so, until I started PAramedic class and had no free time. I took my Basic EMT class at Sumter Tec. I was an EMT-I for about 3 years. I took Paramedic class through PeeDee Reh EMS. Got my Medic in Nov 06.
About Me:
I work as a Medic/Crew Chief for Sumter Co EMS. We are a very busy service. I love my job. I work 24 hrs off 48. There is over time, but I pretty much work only my shift.

I love trauma! Love pulling up on a scene where someones life is on the line but you know exactly what to do. Trauma is cut and dry. No second guessing. You know that blood is necessary to sustain life and if it is coming out you got to stop it. One Person Killed, Another Injured after Sumter Accident Sumter County (WLTX) -- One person is dead, and another is in the hospital after they were hit by a truck while walking near Sumter, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. EMS CALLS:
Sumter County Emergency Medical Services responded to 56 calls Sunday, including 40 medical calls, two assaults, two motor vehicle wrecks, three falls, one heat/cold call, six other traumas, one cardiac arrest and one fire standby.

FIRE CALLS:
The Sumter Fire Department responded to seven calls Sunday, including one medical call, five false alarms and one other call

Hi Mary! How are you? Ive been a stranger since the hubby came home, He got home on Mother's Day! best present I could of gotten :-) We had to get readjusted, went to Jamaica the end of June and had our formal wedding and honeymoon, then back at work,, and finishing up the last day of our paramedic refresher next Monday, I hope everything is good with you. As you see I have been busy, but I hope to stay in touch!
