I love trauma! Love pulling up on a scene where someones life is on the line but you know exactly what to do. Trauma is cut and dry. No second guessing. You know that blood is necessary to sustain life and if it is coming out you got to stop it. You know that fractures need to be splinted if possible, C-spine care is a must and breathing in a necessity. You are taught in basic how to do these things, of course most are just automatic impulses. You do it without…

When God made paramedics, He was into His sixth day of overtime.
An angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
God said, "Have you read the specs on this order?
A Paramedic has to be able to carry an injured person up a wet, grassy hill in the dark,
dodge stray bullets to reach a dying child unarmed,
enter homes the health inspector wouldn't touch,
and not wrinkle his…

Well the new year is upon us, hope it brings lots of exciting things. Spent New Years Eve in the arms of my Baby so how could it go wrong! Worked a 24 hour shift New Years Day. We were very busy with all the normal calls, chest pain, pain all over and of course multiple psych pts. It was all in all a good day. Nobody died in my truck and that is always a good thing. Started off with a new partner as well. Looks like it will be a very busy year as usual, but not gonna let anything get me down.…

Another Halloween has past, I did not hear of any children getting hurt in our County. That is something to be very Thankful for. I went to Pinewood with my boyfriend Dewey, he is a Lt at Pinewood Station 2. They gave out candy to trick or treaters on Main Street. They started with 100 bags and left empty handed. That is a very good turn out. The children dressed in there best costumes seemed to be having a very good time. Everyone seemed happy. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed myself.…
