I hope that I didn't upset you with my comments yesterday. You seem like a very well intended young man that wants to be the best that he can. I strongly support that attitude. You should always want to excel and do the best. I just wanted to share with you that you have time. You don't have to make everything happen now. Sit back and learn absorb it all. There is going to be good and there is going to be bad. You will make decisions and those around you will always have an opinion about those decisions. My advise is to just carry along smartly. Continue to learn everything you can about this service, allow time to come and go, choose your paths and battles wisely. The next thing you know it is going to be 20 years from now and you are going to look back and say "WOW where did it all that time go? Look what I have accomplished."

Ben, was reading the thread about how you feel you are treated as a junior. I hear you loud and clear and wanted to encourage you to stick to your guns and not let things get you down. This forum is swarming with techno-savy old timers who actually get a thrill out of putting the younger guys down. They just have no clue how to communicate with the current generation of new firefighters, and sadly, its the fire service in general that will suffer. Volunteering is in rapid decline all across the country and it's the type of attitudes shown by those who jumped on you in the thread that are fueling it's demise.
Very disapointed in you Ben. You pulled your post even after myself and others attempted to defend you and quite nicely show you where you were wrong in the statements that you made. Be part of the team not the reason for it's falling apart.

Much better buddy. You know I had to give you crap about that right. I didn't think your old man was going to make you change it. I'm surprised you didn't send me back something giving me crap in return.
