I was just wondering if anyone else goes on the local news websites and copies and pastes any articles from calls they were on and saves them. Every fire call we are on and the news crews show up usually the next day I go through and save the articles on my computer, I know that sounds wierd doing that and of course I have been called(jokingly though) a freak and such LOL. I like having these I guess don't know why maybe its a phase and it will soon go away. I was wondering if anyone else did these things.

Where I work, a video security manufacturer in CA., the company deeply supported the East Coast after 9/11. So much so I was on my phone daily taking calls from the members of the different agencies for many months. I took notes during calls, to write down what memorial items they wanted that the company produced and also a little about that person. Some, due the message, I specifically wanted to remember so I could keep them in prayer. I also received hundreds of emails. I have most of everything still, in folders, in zip files, etc. The company I work for also helped me preserve some of the voicemails. Ones I couldn't delete because of how they touched me. They are moments that are a part of your life and are important to remember. You will share the memory of these moments in the future with young members in your family perhaps and they will learn much from you.

I don't think it is weird. It's a memory and later you will enjoy looking back at them and your family might enjoy looking at them too. I am in home health care and I keep the obituaries of all the ones that I've taken care of that have died. I don't look at it as being morbid. When I look at different ones, it reminds me of the time I've spent with them and trying to make their life better. I think it's a great idea that you do that.

Yes, John.
Back in the day, it was called a "scrapbook".
I have several articles, photos, etc. that I kept from my service time and keep them in a box.
After you leave the service, memories and friendships is all that you have.
It's only freakish if you save just the "bad" ones or only ones with your mug in the picture or just your name in the article.
I kept everything.
Make that 2 boxes of stuff.
TCSS.
