Well its almost been a year since i joined the Fire Service, and its been a blast the entire year. Between the experince i have gained in the year with the various tranings my Esstinals and Basic Frefighting 101 and just the experince i have gained from the calls that i have gone on. Either it be a full out structrue fire or Grass fire or just a MVA. Sadly though i also have seen death, being my first call i went on for a very very bad MVA, where one person was DOA. So i got baptised very early in to the service. Well starting next month i take a step up the ladder and begin taking my Firefighter II course, i can't wait it will be a long process but i can not wait to start it. Also decided to go and become a EMT again so hopefully in may i can do that again, as i just joined my towns Rescuse Squad i know is werid being the Fire and EMS are compeltely different depts in my town.

Things have remained very slow here little call volume a few Co2 dectors and a gas leak but no fire's its been very quite for those.Anways thats about it till next time. Stay Safe out there.

Congrats on your first year in buddy... I'm not too far ahead of ya with just over two years in. I didnt see my first DOA until about six months in, it was a suicide; guy decided to blow his head off with a shotgun, damn that was messy. I'd just as soon never see one again. I've had quite a few full arrests and weve been very fortunate to have brought back all of the pt's except one. Your gona see plenty more throughout your career in the service but from what I've seen, they do get easier.

The 2nd year is a good one for sure!!! You earn a little more respect around the house, your calmer on the scene and can think clearer. You learn how to make better decisions. Yeah... things just get even better. Dont worry about a slow call volume right now because things will definatly pick up eventually. Good luck on your EMT (its not that hard LOL) and FF 2
