OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT AND ADOLF HITLER FOR VICE WOULD BE A PERFECT MATCH.GET A CLUE PEOPLE !!!!
Body: Letter from a fellow soldier now stationed in Afgan. Interesting read but really not surprising.

Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass alongthat Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visitto "The War Zone". I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off theplane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with theMajor General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn'tsay a word as he went into the conference room to meet the
General. As hefinished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tentthat military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) sohe could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned theopportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back homethat he is their candidate for President.

I think that if you are going tomake an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that areproviding the freedom that they are providing for
you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the DallasCowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be thePresident of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone would wanthim to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to bearound those that provide the freedom for him and our great country. If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to knowwhat kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is allfake. In service, CPT Jeffrey S.

all i can say is never talk politics but if obama is elected .[remember 9/11 .] there will be many days to remember after 2009 what will we call them . and it has nothing to do with race .

No one wants to see the troops home more than do I...
...something about a USMC Captain who is closely related to me and whose deployment to either Iraq or Afghanistan is inevitable if we keep troops "over there".

Otherwise my personal feelings are a little closer to home than Sun Tzu or Clausewitz. I'm thinking about Jim Segerstrom's comment that "Most days it's not a good idea to put on a command vest with a bullseye on it, and then stand downrange."

I have to agree, Ben. Unfortunately, for or against the war, we're there and we need to let the military experts (our generals) make the decisions on how best to eventually extricate us from this situation, not the politicians. As Sun Tzu said, "When the war drums sound, there is no ruler behind, no earth below, no heavens above." The job of the General is to lead on the battlefield and once those troops are committed, the civilian population needs to let them do their job. Without going into a discussion on total war (Clausewitz), a lot of our problems would be solved if we were more judicious with the military, knowing that when we do let them go out to do their job, they should be left to do what they are trained to do (which isn't pretty). When the civilians start dictating battlefield operations, well, we all know where that goes...

I want to see our troops come home, but I have great confidence that they can do the job they are tasked with and hopefully, bring it on home safely. Let's keep these men and women in our prayers.

I've generally given up on commenting on political issues on the internet, because they're divisive, hot button topics that don't really accomplish much. People who post these topics on the internet generally have already made up their mind who they're voting for, and my $0.02 is unlikely to change that decision.

I have a question that I have to ask the God and Goddess, though.

John McCain is merely accepting reality when he states that we'll probably need to keep a troop presence in Iraq for many years. That doesn't mean that he think's it's a great option - just that it is necessary. His comments on that topic recognized that we've had U.S. troops in Japan and Europe for over 60 years and in Korea for 50.

My question is: Why should Iraq be any different?

To-Rescue Diva Stephi:Seeing as how you probably have not read these comments from the beginning and therefore did not have a chance to read my comment where I admitted to beinfg off key with my statement about Hitler I will apologize to you and all others who could be offended by the term Hitler.I only meant it as a comparison based on the fact that Hitler would not have saluted our flag no more then Obam will.I have however noticed that (thanks to snopes.com)the e-mail may have been one sided(as is most everything printed on the internet)I would like to say that I hope Obama or who ever wins the presidency will stick to this countries traditions whether their religious beliefs support that or not.To the god and goddess-you said you weren't trying to start a fight but it seems that nearly everything you type has something derogatory in it.Why is that?To Rescue Diva Stephi-I am glad I jump the gun and placed this comparison in a blog.As an American and an EMS professional, and also former military and law enforcement this blog has given people something to think about and now you have excercised your mind.My grandparents have german blood and I do not like Hitler no more then I do Bin-Laden but realize this they both were no different then you or I at one time in their life.Power can change people and when that power goes unrestricted it can get even worse.I do believe if Obama gets elected and brings our troops home that would be great for awhile.I say that because we would be at a greater danger when the troops come home. The troops are keeping them busy over there so they are not over here.As for the god and goddess saying we don't belong in this war, well in my opinion and this is just my opinion America as a free country and being founded on the belief in GOD needs to go back to the founding principals of our fore fathers and wage a war for freedom anywhere people are being treated like animals or even worse. We live in the greatest nation in the world and we need to share what we have with those who want it.If they do not want it whats to say their children don't.Oh and I don't know much about nam but I will agree we probably did not belong there but then again we went so it don't matter if we belonged there are not.The only thing I do know is that we need leadership who cares about people and that is where the decision should be.If a candidate cares about his fellow man and will do what is best for them, then that should be our candidate.

I understand that the politics of this world are very much a "portray of who they want us to see them as"....THIS IS NOTHING NEW PEOPLE!!! This has been going on for decades now and with EVERY PERSON WHO HAS EVER thrown their hat in the ring for any political position they talk crap about everyone else, they take "opportunity" pics and show how committed they and their family are to this "great nation".......MY ISSUE with this blog is that A MONSTER WHO KILLED PEOPLE FOR BEING JEWISH is being compaired to someone who NEVER killed anyone!!! I understand if you don't like Obama....quite frankly I'm not sure I do but the POINT is...... that it is irrelevant to WHO HITLER WAS!!!! I am of half german decent and I am ASHAMED of what happened and that as a german I must learn how to forgive what my ancestors did and that hopefully the sins of what they did can someday be forgiven. William I find it very insensitive to even compare Obama to Hitler. What ??? Do you think that the EMS field contains no one of Jewish decendant? HOW INSENSITIVE of you.........seriously. I am ashamed as a german what happened but even MORE ashamed that someone of the EMS field and an American would have such stupidity to find this compairson ok to place in a blog.
